SCDT proudly presents a series of talks and walks organised for our local communities to learn more about our local biodiversity and landscape.

The Campsie Fells are brimming with insect life, but some are hard to find during the day. Martin Culshaw, County Moth Recorder for Stirlingshire will dive into the captivating world of our local moth species. The talk is on the Friday 19th of June and a ‘field’ workshop will be planned later, weather depending. This talk is timed 8-9:30pm. LB Sign up for this talk.

Loved by many, feared by some. Families are invited to join an exciting bat talk and walk with the Loch Lomond Bat group on the Friday 14th of August, organised together with Strathblane Wildlife Sanctuary. This talk is timed 8-9:30pm. Sign up for this talk.

Hidden from sight during most of the year, local ecologist Mirte Greve from SCDT will introduce you to the colourful world of the grassland fungi on the Campsie slopes and their relation to cultural heritage on the Friday 25th of September, followed by a ‘foray’ to be planned later, weather depending. This talk is timed 8-9:30pm. LB Sign up for this talk.
